Focus and Intent

A few words need be said on Focus and Intent during Ritual/Spell casting. Preparation for a spell should start several days in advance of the designated day. No Ritual should be preformed on a whim. Any Ritual/Spell should only be performed because an overwhelming urge drives you. By starting to gather your items-crystals, stones, colored candles, Incense, sigil's, talismans. necessary offerings to your specific Pantheon of gods. You will be building the energy for the spell. Lets give an example:

Your out shopping for groceries. An overwhelming urge to purchase green candles hits. You have learned to listen so you purchase green candles. In the next few days you begin to feel you should perform a prosperity spell. You check the calendar and the New Moon is in 4 days. You check thru your supplies to make sure you have everything else you need. Your good to go. Except for 3 things.You have to write the spell. And you need a focus to send the energy to.

At Crystalwell we believe a person should try to write all their own spells. This applies to Solitary's of course. If in a Coven the Priest and/or Priestess should be creating the rituals.

Let your mind be occupied with the words you wish to use. The entities you wish to call. The Intent you wish the spell to carry. Let your mind become absorbed by the task. Why not? It's better then most of the gibberish and negativity flowing thru it usually. Even if only a couple lines at a time come to you that's great, write them down. The spell will build itself.

Be more aware of those around you and what their needs are.

If you pass a panhandler flip em a dollar. Drop a dollar into a Save the something box on a grocery counter. Can't afford a buck? That's ok use a quarter. IT'S ALL ABOUT INTENT. Each action you perform in regards to the upcoming Ritual adds a layer of Magicke to the Spell.

You know that prosperity is not all about money. True prosperity comes from opportunities. Chances to learn, to grow, to change. Prosperity is experiencing true happiness.

It's D Day. Over the last few days you have realized that you needed different items then that which you had first decided. All is well, you had time.

The spell is done. It took it a bit, but in the end it wrote itself.

In the last few days, while consciously being aware,you have realized that there are some people around you that are in pretty dire straits financially.You picture the old man who gathers pop bottles to survive. You realize carving symbols of prosperity onto the green candle will give the spell more energy. Even a simple dollar sign imbues intent.

A co-worker has a family member in the hospital. The whole family needs energy, strength and healing. You carve a Caduseus onto the candle.

It's time. Your Altar is set. Your circle is cast. As you begin you are fully focused, pure of intent. You know why your there. The energy has already been building in you for 3 days. Remember each action has added a layer to the Magicke.

You perform your Ritual. As you incant your spell. You picture in your mind all the people you wish to send the Magicke to. The prosperity,strength, the healing, the peace, the love. Picture you are standing in the center of a giant spiderweb. When your incantation is complete send out your gathered energy. Picture it flowing out on the strands of the web as dew drops of silver light. Ever moving outward, beads of good intentions traveling on forever.

This is really important folks. One should never in cant for ones self. Druidic Law of Magicke- Like attracts Like. Witches know it as the Law of Three. Whatever you put out- comes back three-fold.

Now don't think you can trick the Creative Conscious.You can't think "Gee I really need some cash. I think I'll cast a prosperity spell for Joe that way it will come back to me 3 times. Sorry folks. Remember Intent is the Key.

So your done. You feel great. You bid the gods thank you and adieu. You close your circle. Now the true fun begins. Watching for the affects of your spell. Once again if your waiting to see what good thing comes to you. Don't hold your breath, obviously your intent was not true. Watch those around you, the one's you focused on. You'll be amazed at what a little Magicke can do!
