Cleansing Rite

The following ritual may be used to cleanse a dwelling or magickal tools. If using for objects hold the object in your left hand, passing it thru smoke or using consecrated salt. Replace the word "house" with the name of the object. Now move the object to your right hand and perform the Consecration Ritual.

Many people prefer to do a cleansing ritual at midnight, I feel that at the time of the Spring Sabbat is also appropriate. Don't we usually start to do spring cleaning of our home's interior at this time...well why not the astral plane at the same time. If you prefer to do it separately then erect your altar at Midnight with two white candles(always cast the circle, and set the altar as already described) or if doing at the same time as another ritual repeat the following while holding the anthame or crystal in your right hand and the incense in your left, face the altar and repeat.

IN THE NAME OF THE GODDESS
I BANISH AND EXORCISE FROM THIS HOUSE
ALL MALIGNANT SPIRITS, DEMONS AND IMPS
ALL NEGATIVE AND DESTRUCTIVE VIBRATIONS
AND ANY EVIL INFLUENCES THAT MAY DWELL
WITHIN THIS PLACE

MAY THIS HOUSE BE FILLED
WITH LOVE AND PEACE.
MAY GOOD LUCK AND FORTUNE
NEVER CEASE

PROTECTED AND GUARDED
MAY THIS HOUSE BE
CLEANSED AND PURIFIED
OF NEGATIVITY. BLESSED BE!
BLESSED BE!

Now holding the anthame/crystal away from you move in a clockwise direction. While doing so imagine a beam of pure white light emitting from the item, continue until three full circles have been completed. Then move onto the next room and repeat the prayer of blessing, continue until you have blessed each room. It is important to have the incense burning as to drive away the unseen negative forces and infuse each room with positive vibrations. When all rooms have been completed go outside and face your front door, point the anthame/crystal at the door and repeat:

BLESSED BE THIS HOUSE
AND ALL WHO ENTER HEREIN
SO MOTE IT BE!

Make sure to return to the altar, thank the goddess for her love and help, extinguish the candles and uncast the circle. I believe this bears repeating, the most important part of a Ritual is feeling comfortable with what you are saying and doing, the incantations supplied here do not have to be said verbatim. Use them as a guide line....speak from the heart and the goddess will always hear you. Blessed Be!
